We are all feeling the stress of just living in 2020. In this 3-part workshop, you’ll get step-by-step guidance to create your own Self Care Kit so you can live with your highest possible level of well-being.
I know you are emotionally exhausted and physically tired. We are all feeling the stress of just living in 2020. We don’t even have to leave the house to be assaulted with stressful situations thanks to the stories dominating TV and social media. As a matter of fact, not leaving the house due to the pandemic is causing stress and anxiety.
Fortunately, we have more control over how we respond than most of us think, and self-care is the key. Self-care is consistently doing what’s necessary so that you can live with your highest possible level of well-being. Self-care is personal, so it’s different for everyone. And it’s not something you do every once in a while. It’s a daily habit like brushing your teeth. Self-care is simple and enjoyable, and once you understand where you need improvement, what tools work for you, and how to make them a habit, you increase your capacity and resiliency, so you aren’t at the whim of every wild thing life throws at you.
This workshop includes three 1-hour live sessions to help you understand what self-care is (It’s not supposed to be hard), find out what nurtures you, experiment with different styles and aspects of self-care, and create your own unique Self-Care Kit.
Definition, Assessment & Meditation
We’ll start with a meditation and then get into detail about what self-care is and isn’t. We’ll talk about the different types of self-care and how they are all connected to caring for the whole you. You’ll receive several worksheets to help you figure out what you’re already doing well and where you’d like to improve. We’ll explore how stress shows up for you so you can recognize it and stop your panic cycle early.
Affirmations, Intentions & Journaling
We’ll start with a short meditation and then explore what makes an effective affirmation so you can learn to write your own. You’ll get some powerful examples. You’ll get journaling tips to help you get started or use your journal more effectively. (You don’t have to have nice handwriting and do it in a pretty notebook. I prefer a plain spiral notebook or a dot grid journal. Find out why.) The homework handouts will help you practice using a routine.
Plan for Success
We’ll start with another meditation, and then talk about your plans for success. You’ll receive more information on how to handle intense emotions, and what to do when you don’t feel like doing anything. I’ll share some of my favorite soothing things.
